The Georgetown Arts and Cultural Center was founded in 2007 by Artist  Angielena Vitale Chamberlain. The “Center”  started it’s life as the Georgetown Art Center and quickly grew into a more all encompassing force in the Seattle scene. So the name was changed to welcome in a new era and open arms into the greater cultural environment . The “Center” has become a fertile ground for artists to create, teach  and  become active agents within the Georgetown community.  Presently the Center houses seven professional artists and hosts special events and gallery openings. A description of fun classes and events can be found on our calendar page. We will continue to be a supportive place for artists ages 3-103

The GACC Teen After school  art program called “Teens Thinking outside the Box” (TTOB)

The Art Center has created a much needed Teen after school program for the South Seattle area. This program rightfully titled “Teens thinking outside the box” focuses on Printmaking and learning how to use recycled materials.

The Mayors Office of Arts and Culture and the South Seattle Rotary have given the GACC  two small grants to cover one month of  expenses for this very needed program. The goal is to extend  the “TTOB ” program through the entire school year. Details of the program are as follows,

Program details

Two instructors from the GACC  (Angielena Vitale Chamberlain -printmaker and Yvette   Endrijautzki- multi media box/assemblage) will join forces  to teach basic woodblock skills, assemblage and multi media to create the final masterpiece that exemplifies each individual Teens personality. We feel it is a very important program to  offer to teens in the south Seattle area. We are currently having a kickstarter benefit to help raise extra scholarship monies for this program. Go to this link in the next few days and DONATE ANY amount,  , proceeds from this benefit will go towards purchasing supplies and paying Instructors to keep this program interesting to the Teens. This program is free of charge to TEENS SO YOUR SUPPORT IS CRUCIAL.
